Shedding Light Moments

SHEDDING LIGHT MOMENT 11th September 2020
Reading Proverbs 4:20-27 and giving thought to v.23 reflect on this shedding light moment:-
When we read,”Above all else, guard your heart”(v.23), it makes a lot of sense. But it’s difficult advice to keep. Life will always make some demands upon our time and energy that cry out for our immediate attention. But by comparison, taking time to hear God’s Word and to do what it says may not shout quite so loudly. We may not notice the consequences of neglect right away, but over time it may give way to a spiritual heart attack. We should be thankful that God has given us His Word. We need His help not to neglect it,but to use it to align our hearts with His every day. So here’s something to ponder at week’s end.
To keep spiritually fit, consult the Great Physician.

1Samuel Chapter 17 tells the account of David facing the giant Philistine Goliath. He did so with the right view of the circumstances(vv32-37).
Whilst Goliath may look and act like a giant,in contrast to the living God he is small. David confidently appears before Goliath in only his shepherd’s clothes, armed with his staff, five stones, and a sling. His confidence is not in what he has but in who is with him(v45). You may be facing “Goliath’s”in your life right now but remember with God, all things are small in comparison. Nothing is too big for Him. God is able to deliver you if that’s His desire and He may do so in ways you dont expect..So reflect on this thought:-
Dont tell God how big your giants are. Tell your giants how big your God is…

SHEDDING LIGHT MOMENT 7th September 2020.

Read Philippians 3:12-17 and reflecting on vv.13 &14 give this some thought:-

The Kangaroo and Emu both appear on the Australian coat of arms…Both, seldom ever take a backward step indicative that the nation is to be ever moving forward and making progress…The apostle Paul called for a similar approach to the life of faith in his letter to the Philppians(vv13&14)…
While it is wise to learn from the past,we shouldn’t live in the past…We cannot redo or undo the past, but by God’s grace we can press forward and serve God faithfully today and in the future…The life of faith is a journey forward as we become like Christ….So here’s a thought to start the week…
I will go anywhere as long as its forward…
