Shedding Light Moments

(Isaiah 55:1-7).
Most of us know the hymn “Just As I Am” which is often sung at the end of a gospel service inviting people to come and receive Christ as their Saviour and receive forgiveness for their sins.
Years before writing the song, Charlotte Elliott asked a minister how she herself might find the Lord. He told her, “Just come to Him as you are.” She did, and later during a very discouraging time of illness, she wrote this hymn about the day she came to Christ and He forgave her sin.
In His Word, the Lord encourages us to seek Him: “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near”(v.6). He calls to our hearts: “Come, all you who are thirsty…Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live”(vv.1,3).
Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can come to Him right now and will one day go into eternity to be with Him forever. Just as I am…I come! Reflect then on this SLM:-
“Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life”.(Rev 22:17).

(Psa. 119:9-16).
We all cherish letters from those we love and those who love us. That’s why there is so much encouragement in the fact that our heavenly Father has given us a letter called the Bible. The value of Scripture goes beyond its words of power, challenge, and wisdom. Amid all the stories, teaching, and guidance this Book provides, the overriding idea is that God loves us and has planned our rescue. It tells us of His love in overseeing our existence (Ps.139), meeting our needs (Matt.6:31-34), comforting us (2Cor.1:3-4), and saving us through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus (Rom. 1:16-17).
You are loved beyond imagination. God says so in His inspired and inspiring message to you. No wonder the psalmist wrote “I will not neglect Your Word”(v.16). It is one amazing letter! Reflect then on this SLM:-
“The love of God for us is revealed in His letter to us–the Bible.”
